Town Hall Meeting Scheduled for July 31

A town hall meeting will be held on July 31 at 6:30pm to solicit input on the revisions to the condo documents related to responsibility of maintaining the unit and common elements.
The documents revision committee has been sorting through the complexities of property classification under condominium law. But the major issue is not so much classification as assigning responsibility for maintenance, repair and replacement. As we said at the last meeting, we are moving a number of sections out of the declaration and into the bylaws. In our draft we have specifically delegated authority to the association to deal with all of these subjects in the bylaws. One of them is the authority to assign responsibility for maintenance, repair and replacement of property, primarily limited common elements.
The problem is where to draw the line between elements that should be the responsibility of unit owners and those that should be the responsibility of the association.
